What You Will Learn

During the course, participants will practice the essential skills to climb multi-pitch routes safely:

• Placement and assessment of traditional protection (cams, nuts, and friends).


• Building secure anchors, emphasizing proper load distribution.


• Rope management and techniques on multi-pitch climbs, including belaying and self-protection.


• Strategies for accident prevention and problem-solving on the wall.


• Realistic scenarios in trad climbing, so you gain confidence and autonomy in vertical environments.

By the end of the course, you will be able to move safely on classic routes and handle multi-pitch climbs effectively and responsibly.

Participant Requirements

To make the most of this course, participants should:

- Have experience on sport routes and know how to belay with a GriGri or Reverso.

- Be able to rappel independently.

If you meet these requirements, you are ready to experience trad climbing with the technical knowledge and safety skills needed.

Location and Format

The course takes place in La Mussara, a premier climbing area in Tarragona for traditional routes and multi-pitch climbs. We offer group courses on scheduled dates, perfect for sharing experience and learning with other climbers, as well as private courses, tailored to your level, goals, and pace.

Course Objective

The main goal is to develop technical skills and autonomy in traditional climbing. You will learn to read the rock, place protection safely, build stable anchors, and manage ropes on multi-pitch routes. This will allow you to climb more safely and fully enjoy the classic climbing experience.
