In the Stage Performance Climbing Series, we offer you the opportunity to spend two days climbing alongside professional climbers. The chosen location for this learning and training experience is Margalef, one of the most popular climbing areas in the world, known for both the quality and the number of equipped routes suitable for all levels.
Spending two days climbing and learning directly from professional climbers will help you open your mind, discover new resources you may not have known before, and learn how to apply them in practice. Both days are hands-on, climbing on real rock, with guidance from a professional climber and support from a climbing coach.
The sessions cover the two main styles of sport climbing: onsight climbing and redpoint climbing.
Onsight climbing is considered by many to be the purest form of sport climbing. Facing a route without any prior information presents both a physical and mental challenge. Where will the crux be? What will the holds feel like? Will the overhang be steeper than I expect?Managing all these uncertainties—and many more—while successfully reaching the anchor in a single onsight attempt requires training, practice, and plenty of climbing mileage, especially if you aim to push your grade in this style.
Working on a route, especially when pushing your grade, is no easy task. Beyond the physical aspect—always present in climbing—the mental factor plays a crucial role. Focusing on a project means facing frustration and learning about ourselves through self-criticism and perseverance.
