Throughout the course, you’ll practice key maneuvers and rescue systems to manage emergencies in a safe and controlled way:
- Rope ascension and descent techniques.
- Changing systems and load transfers.
- Partner hauling and lowering.
- Rescue maneuvers while abseiling.
- Real-world scenarios and problem-solving on the wall.
- Belay using a GriGri and a Reverso.
- Rappel independently.

The course takes place in La Mussara (Tarragona, Spain) — one of the most scenic and technical climbing areas in Catalonia.
You can join a group session on scheduled dates listed on our website or choose a private course, tailored to your needs and learning pace.
By the end of the course, you’ll have the confidence and technical ability to act autonomously and safely in case of an emergency during your climbs — whether on sport routes or multi-pitch terrain.

We did a two-day climbing course in Siurana and Arboli and couldn't be happier. Giordano is one of the best guides I have gone out climbing with, he explains things super well and has something to offer no matter your level. Did one week course with Santi, in a group of 4. We went to different sites every single day (Siurana, Margalef, Arboli and Montserrat) which gave me a very good overview of some of the best sites in the Tarragona area. Teaching of Santi is of top quality, with the right level of technical and mental aspects and most importantly his passion to share is amazing. Always felt encouraged and motivated. Highly recommend Southclimb!
Messaged Santi to teach us lead climbing outside as it was our first time. He was very responsive with his communication and we sorted out a day to climb. We climbed at a really scenic location. Santi tought us most of the aspects required to perform lead climbing and was very patient, effective and an all round down to earth person. By the end of the day we were almost competent lead climbers. I would definitely recommend him if you want it learn how to climb or need a challenging route to climb with assistance.
Santi hosted 5 of us amateur climbers in Siurana for 5 days, most of whom had never climbed outdoors before. We felt so safe with Santi as a guide, and he was able to provide climbing support as well as local recommendations (and jokes) at the same time! We all definitely leant a lot from him.
