El otoño empieza a tocar a su fin. Las horas de luz disminuyen y las temperaturas cada vez nos acercan más al invierno. Es el momento de buscar las caras sur, la roca caliente. Es el momento de escalar al sol.
Margalef es una de las escuelas de escalada de la provincia de Tarragona con más vías equipadas. Ya son más de 1.400. Y lo mejor es que encontraremos dificultades para todos los niveles. Además, esta zona de escalada de la comarca del Priorat cuenta con multitud de sectores orientados a sur, así que podremos disfrutar de la escalada invernal en su plenitud, aprovechando al máximo los rayos del astro rey.
Recopilamos la información de tres sectores recomendados en Margalef para escalar al sol.
Can Torxa es un sector localizado en la zona del pantano de Margalef. Se encuentra a pie de carretera, así que la aproximación se convierte en casi inexistente desde el aparcamiento. Las vías son verticales, con una roca de calidad excelente. Es un sector ideal para escaladores que se muevan en el sexto grado. Actualmente cuenta con más de 20 vías equipadas.
El sol entra en la pared a partir de las 8 h de la mañana y se esconde hacia las 16h, así que en invierno disfrutaremos de casi el total de horas de luz para escalar en Can Torxa.
Se conoce popularmente como Espadelles a todo el conjunto de sectores que conforman en Cingle d’Espadelles. El muro se divide en siete sectores en total: Racó de les Espadelles, La Mainadera, Soledad, Cova del Cavall, Espadelles Extension, Bonavista y Bombo Taronja. A estos siete sectores de pueden añadir Punta Espadelles y el Totxo de les Espadelles. Hay que tener en cuenta que en Punta Espadelles el sol solo está presente hasta mediodía, en el resto tendremos horas de luz y nos calentarán los rayos solares desde la salida hasta la puesta.
La diversidad de grados es muy amplia en Espadelles. Pueden escalar desde los novenogradistas, pasando por los que prueban vías de séptimo grado y hasta los que se encuentran cómodos en las vías de sexto y quinto. Nadie se quedará sin vías en este excelente muro de Margalef, quizás el más famoso de la zona.
Camí de l’Ermita
El Camí de l’Ermita es uno de los sectores de escalada de invierno por excelencia en Margalef. Además, las vistas desde el pie de vía son de las mejores en la zona. Localizado al lado de la pequeña ermita de Sant Salvador, disfrutaremos de la inmensidad del Barranc de Sant Salvador.
El sector tiene un pie de vía cómodo y la aproximación desde el aparcamiento es rápida. En menos de 10 minutos estaremos listos para empezar a escalar. El Camí de l’Ermita cuenta con más de 20 vías equipadas, la mayoría de sexto grado, y la media de altura de éstas está entre los 20 y los 25 metros. En invierno el sol está presente desde que sale hasta que se pone.
Siguiendo el muro a la derecha tenemos los sectores El Balcó de l’Ermita y Caberenet, ambos con grados más exigentes.
