Climbing baptisms are ideal for getting started in rock climbing. They're basically introductory courses focused on helping participants discover climbing—what the activity is about, the challenges it involves—while also understanding the basic safety concepts.
In our baptisms, we want you to climb a lot and enjoy rock climbing while we take care of safety.
That doesn't mean you'll climb without understanding what's going on. An essential part of the activity is getting familiar with climbing gear, learning to tie a figure-eight knot, and learning to use a Gri gri to belay another climber.
We'd be lying if we told you that in 6 hours of activity, having never climbed before, you'll have the knowledge to go climbing on your own. That's why baptisms are only the first step. You'll understand the basic maneuvers and the dynamics of rock climbing.
Once you've done a climbing baptism, you can continue your training by taking a Level 2 climbing course. In fact, many of our course participants often decide to do a second baptism to fully solidify the basic concepts before moving on to Level 2, where they'll gain autonomy.
In our baptisms and all our courses, groups are kept small to guarantee maximum safety and personalized attention. That's why even if you repeat a baptism, we can keep progressing a little further with you while the other participants practice the basic maneuvers.
Where are the baptisms held? We usually run the activity in Siurana, Arboli, or Montserrat. These are all world-renowned climbing areas set in spectacular locations. But don't let these big names intimidate you—these areas also have routes that are ideal for getting started in climbing. We'll take care of taking you to the spot that best suits your needs so you can enjoy an unforgettable day in the mountains.
If you'd prefer to do it somewhere else, we can organize a private baptism for you in whichever area of Catalonia you prefer.
