In Siurana you can climb all year. If you know where to go and at what time, this paradise of orange rock, always has a good sector to enjoy climbing, either in the middle of summer or in the middle of winter.
Those super cold days, with single digit temperatures and north winds winds, Siurana offers a good variety of crags to shelter and enjoy climbing. Here is a selection of our favorite sectors for the coldest days of the year.
La Reina Mora, is a sector with lots of sun and quite sheltered from the wind. In addition, this sector is better to visit on very cold days, since its climbing routes tend to be very vertical, technical and with very small holds, being better to climb here the days of more friction. I organised a 4hr climbing session in Siurana for 10 children (mostly aged 8-9) and Santi was super easy to communicate with and organise everything remotely. He arranged 2 guides, all the equipment, safe briefing and everything you would need for a half day of fun climbing. The kids really enjoyed themselves and learnt so much along the way. Some were beginners, others had climbed before and the guides were very helpful and supportive. I highly recommend Southclimb and we can’t wait to go climbing with them again.

My goal coming to Spain was to get out for a couple days rock climbing with my family. I’m a fairly accomplished climber but the mechanics of trying to take the family out on my own. Mariano our guide was the perfect example of what a guide should be, he was quick to set up and take down the climbs, had the perfect eye for challenging but achievable routes for the family, was friendly, great with the kids, a just an all around good guy. I can’t recommend this company enough, and am already planning my return trip to Spain to climb with them.
