Climbing the Cavall Bernat is a goal sought for thousands of climbers around the world. This legendary peak is in the midst of the Montserrat area and is one of the most emblematic mountains in Catalonia.

We propose climbing the Punsola-Reniu, 240 m, 5+, AE. This route is emblematic as it is demanding: not only for its length and difficulty, but also for its exposure. 240 meters of climbing will bring you up to the summit, where you'll see the statue of La Moreneta and from which you'll get some privileged views of the Montserrat massif and its surroundings.
This route is quite demanding and you should be able to climb at least 5th grade. Good physical shape is also required.

My goal coming to Spain was to get out for a couple days rock climbing with my family. I’m a fairly accomplished climber but the mechanics of trying to take the family out on my own. Mariano our guide was the perfect example of what a guide should be, he was quick to set up and take down the climbs, had the perfect eye for challenging but achievable routes for the family, was friendly, great with the kids, a just an all around good guy. We had an awesome time with Mariano from South Climb! Did 2 days of guided climbing (first in Montserrat then in Gelida). It was great, he found routes that worked for both of us at our different levels (beginner and intermediate). He also had lots of tips to share to help us improve, which made the whole experience so much more valuable. Would highly recommend and would definitely come back!
